A recipe: Giant Cookie Mummy

Halloween Mummy Cookie

Halloween baking just got a little more fun!

Make this hilarious giant mummy cookie using our vanilla cake mix or cookie cake kit!

 You Will Need:

  • 1 bag Vanilla Cake mix
  • 1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) unsalted butter, at room temp
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup chocolate feves, pieces or chips
  •  white and black fondant
  • 1/2 cup frosting 
  • Round cutters

Instructions:

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, using an electric whisk, beat the cake mix with the butter and egg until it forms a ball. Fold in the chocolate. 

Transfer to the prepared cookie sheet and press into a 6-inch circle. Refrigerate for 20 minutes (or up to 2 days).

Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake the cookie until golden brown at edges, about 35 minutes (it will start to spread). 

Remove from the oven and let cool completely on a wire rack.

To make the mummy, cut 2 large rounds of white fondant and place as eyes. Top each with a smaller round of black fondant or 2 additional chocolate feves. 

Fill a piping bag (or ziplock bag) with 1/2 cup frosting and cut a 1/2-inch wide corner off. Pipe frosting back and forth over the cookie to mummify!
